TRENCH ™ CHALLENGE is a 4mile Obstacle Course Race that will take place on the Guam International Raceway’s 250 acre property that anyone can start and everyone can finish. Whether a top athlete or just beginning the challenge, participants will have the chance to overcome over 20 obstacles. Finishers will be rewarded with a custom finisher medal, a  performance dri-fit jersey, an ice cold beer (21 and over only), Pizza, Free event day photos by professional photographers (downloadable post race), and giveaways from sponsors. 

 

While the competition struggles to keep up, we'll be offering a better experience, more perks, flying in the starting line emcee from the World Championships to deliver the same motivational speeches before you take off into the course, FREE Training Camps to prepare you for the challenge, and we'll continue to simultaneously host the Crossfit Throwdown competition, attracting teams from Saipan and Japan, and raise more money for our charity partners. So far we've raised over $18,000.00 for Guam Cancer Care and Special Olympics Guam.

 

TRENCH™ CHALLENGE is the official qualifier for the 2020 OCRWC. We will be representing the island among 68 countries against the best in the sport of OCR in Stratton Vermont.

 

TRENCH™ CHALLENGE 2019 is scheduled to take place Sunday September 20th at the Guam International Raceway. Participants can expect additional challenges and new obstacles inspired by OCRWC.

 

  • Registration opened January 1st.

  • Elite Division: Solo qualifier for the OCRWC

  • Team Challenge Division: 4 person timed event.

  • Recreational Division: Not timed, No penalties, and can create a team of up to 50 people

  • Price increases every 1st of the month.

  • Last day to register is September 28.

  • On-site registration will be taken upon availability

 

Who will qualify to enter and compete at OCRWC?

Top 3 Male and Female finishers in the Elite Division.

Top 5 in each age group of Elite Division.
Male: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
Female: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+

 

Trophies, awards, and qualifying certificate to be given to Top 3 finishers in Elite Division.

Top 5 Elite Division runners in each age group will receive qualifying certificates.

 

The Team Challenge Division top finishers will receive trophies and prizes.

  • You must show up 45-30 minutes prior to your wave start time. If you miss your wave, you will be placed in the next available wave possibly at the end of the day so don't be late. Fill out your waiver form ahead of time to speed up the check-in process.

  • Must be at least 12yrs of age to enter the Recreational Division, 13yrs to compete in the Elite Division. 

  • TRENCH™ CHALLENGE registrations are NON-REFUNDABLE. But transferrable.

  • You may transfer your registration to another participant no later than August 31, 2018 at 5pm.

  • Instructions on how to transfer can be found HERE.

  • You must have a photo ID to check in and receive your bib.

  • Spectators are allowed at TRENCH™ CHALLENGE for FREE.

  • Spectators are NOT allowed on the course unless they have signed the waiver and have been given a wristband.

  • Videographers and Photographers will need to sign in for a press pass and fill out a waiver form to get on course.

  • TRENCH™ CHALLENGE is a rain or shine event.

  • NO outside food or beverage are allowed except for personal sports bottles and camel back type hydration devices.

  • Bring spending money for extra beer, drinks, food, and merchandise.  

  • Pets are allowed to TRENCH™ CHALLENGE however you will be fully responsible for your Pet and pick up after and dispose of its waste.

WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?

It all happens Sunday, September 30th at the Guam International Raceway on Rt. 15 Yigo. Find a map HERE.

 

HOW MANY OBSTACLES ARE THERE?

There will be approximately 20 obstacles with a couple pending confirmation. Keep checking on this site or our Facebook page for updates.

 

IS THIS A TIMED RACE?

Yes, and No. The first few waves are for the Elite and Team Challenge Divisions. These are competetive categories where every participant will receive a number and be timed and must complete every obstacle or be subjected to penalties. The Recreational Division wave start times are not timed and participants are not required to complete every obstacle.

DO WE HAVE TO COMLETE EVERY OBSTACLE?

Runners in the Recreational Division wave starts may skip any obstacle along the course, without penalty.  Since these waves are untimed, take your time to complete the obstacles.

I WANT TO RUN WITH MY FRIENDS.

You are encouraged to put together a team and take on the course together. Teamwork and camaraderie will get you thru the course. - Start together and Finish strong together!

 

CAN I RUN WITHOUT A TEAM?

YES, you can join the Recreational Division solo or you should join the Elite Division to be eligible for a trophy for Top 3 Males & Females and an opportunitiy to qualify for the OCR World Championships in October (Happening in London)  

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED ON A TEAM?

In the Recreational Division, each team can have as little as 1 or up to 20 or more members. 

If your team would like to compete with time, join the Team Challenge Division of 4 members. Have more than 4 people? Create another 4 person team and start together.

 

IS THE REGISTRATION PRICE BY TEAM?

No.  The registration price is per individual.

 

CAN I REGISTER MY TEAMATES?

Yes you can. You can also create a team on or registration site and give your team mates the access code to register on your team.

IF I'M REGISTERED FOR THE CROSSFIT THROWDOWN, DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR TRENCH CHALLENGE?

No, if you are already registered for the Throwdown, you do not need to register for TRENCH™ CHALLENGE. You will be running with the Elite Division and timed individually. Please know that if you've already registered for TRENCH™ CHALLENGE and later decide to join the Throwdown by Chamorri CrossFit, you will not get a refund. You will be able to transfer your entry to another person. Registrations for each event is separate. Don't get mixed up. If you have any questions, contact us or Chamorri Crossfit.

 

CAN I CHOOSE MY START TIME?

Yes you can, however if you register in-person we will do our best to get you on the chosen time.

 

IF I REGISTER THEN LATER DECIDE TO CANCEL FOR ANY REASON, CAN I GET A REFUND OR TRANSFER MY ENTRY TO SOMEONE ELSE?

Sorry, we do not offer refunds BUT you can transfer your entry to someone else if you notify us before the August 31st deadline. If you miss the deadline, we're sorry.
